Question

Which fields do I need to map in FTK Central for the different functions to work when doing a load file import? Things like Family relationships and OCR text.

Answer

  • Something must always be mapped to the DocID field. This is the unique identifier, or bates number. BegDoc and BegBates are common names for this in a relativity load file.

  • Family Relationships need to be mapped to BegAttach and EndAttach to populate the Family details.

  • Native Files need to be mapped to NativeFilePath to extract metadata and populate the viewer. This can have a variety of different names in loadfiles from other vendors. You'll need to check the loadfile to see which one is correct. Options could be (but are not limited to) NATIVEFILEFULLPATH, File_Path, Source_Path, Source.

  • OCR Text needs to be mapped to OCRFilePath to populate the TEXT panel. This is often called Text_Precedence in most relativity load files.
