There are some properties that could enhance IPP and automate some activities that would otherwise require a lot of manual work
Auto apply - It will automatically apply preservation when a legal hold is issued
Add new data source for preservation - When a new data source is created, it will be added to the existing preservation plan
DS configuration changes - if there are any changes to the DS configuration, our system will automatically re-apply the preservation
You can automatically preserve the Exterro In-Place Preservation (IPP) compliant data sources upon issuing a Legal hold by selecting the required data sources.
1. Auto-applying Preservation for Data Sources:
You can automatically preserve the Exterro In-Place Preservation (IPP) compliant data sources upon issuing a Legal hold by selecting the required data sources.
From the home page, click .
Navigate to In-Place Preservation tab.
Click Preservation Settings.
Click .
The Edit Auto Apply Preservation pop-up is displayed.
Enable the auto-apply preservation checkbox.
Select the data sources to be applied.
Click .
The success message will be displayed as below.
2. Add newly identified data Sources:
Any new IPP-supported data sources added to the custodian associated with a Legal hold will be automatically added to the IPP plan without reissuing the hold.
Adding newly identified data sources:
From the home page, click .
Navigate to the In-Place Preservation tab.
Click Preservation Settings.
Click Add newly identified data source.
Click .
The Add newly identified data source pop-up is displayed.
Enable the auto-add new data source checkbox.
The Schedule section will be displayed in the Add newly identified data source pop-up.
Select the Term durations.
Provide the Repeat durations.
Select the Schedule Time.
Provide the recipient's email address in the Notify Email field.
Click .
The success message will be displayed as below.
3. Automatic re-applying of preservation for data sources:
To automatically re-apply the preservation for Exterro In-Place Preservation data sources with either or both of the ‘User account’ name and ‘Inactive mailbox’ status configuration changes.
From the home page, click .
Navigate to the In-Place Preservation tab.
Click Preservation Settings.
Click Data Source Configuration Changes.
Click .
