Problem
When processing or importing data some files may be identified by the software as eDiscovery Refinement.
Resolution
1.) Process or Import Evidence into the case
2.) Go into the Review Platform
3.) Create a Label
4.) Within the Item List select Options > Quick Filters > Show eDiscovery Refinement
5.) Drop down the action list to "Label Assignment" and Click Go
6.) Within Label Assignment ensure that the new label created has a check box next to it. Leave the other labels as they are (if present) and Click Save
7.) Verify that all items within the Item list were labeled. This can be done by going to the Work list within Project Management and noting the number of items processed
8.) Go back into the Review Platform and within the Item List select Options > Quick Filters > Hide eDiscovery Refinement
9.) Drop down the action list to "Label Assignment" and Click Go
10.) Within Label Assignment ensure that the new label created has a empty box next to it. Leave the other labels if they are (if present) and Click Save
11.) Validate the number of items processed within the work list. Compare this number to the previous label assignment ran, as the difference will be the number of items identified as eDiscovery Refinement
12.) Go back into the Review Platform. Within the Item List select options > Quick Filters > Show eDiscovery Refinement
13.) Add the column “File Type” to the Item List as this will show you the type of file that has been identified as eDiscovery Refinement
14.) Within Project Explorer go to General > Labels> “Label Name to identify eDiscovery Refinement items”
This will show all the items within the Items List that is identified as eDiscovery Refinement.
Cause
The import files were incorrectly identified within the import file
