How do I configure AD eDiscovery to collect from Box?



  • A Box developer account
  • The credentials of your organization's administrator



Create a Box Application

  1. Log in to with your organization's administrator's account
  2. Click "Create New App"
  3. Select "Custom App" and click "Next"
  4. Select "Standard OAuth 2.0" authentication and click "Next"
  5. Name your application and click "Create App"
  6. Click "View Your App"
  7. Next to "OAuth 2.0 Redirect URI", enter an address in the form https:///ADG.OAuth and click "Save Changes"
  8. Next to "Advanced Features", enable "Perform Actions as Users".
  9. Copy the ClientID, Client Secret and Box Redirect URI

Add the eDiscovery Box Connector

  1. In eDiscovery, go to Data Sources > Box
  2. Click the Add button in the upper-right
  3. Give the connector a Name, enter the previously noted ClientID, Client Secret and Box Redirect URI, and click "Authorize"
  4. In the resulting browser window, sign in with the credentials used the create the app and click "Authorize"
  5. Click "Grant access to Box"
  6. Click "OK" to add the connector
