How do I disable Windows Defender's Real-time protection?
Answer
Windows Server 2016:
- Click Start.
- Type Windows Defender Settings and click on the top result.
- Under the heading Real-time protection, slide the toggle to Off.
- Reboot.
Windows 10:
- Click Start.
- Type Virus & Threat Protection and click on the top result.
- Under the heading Virus & threat protection settings, click Manage settings.
- Under the heading Tamper Protection, slide the toggle to Off.
- Click Start.
- Type gpedit.msc and click on the top result.
- Browse to the path Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender Antivirus > Real-time Protection.
- Double-click the Turn off real-time protection policy.
- Select Enabled and click OK.
- Reboot.
