If a user would like to include the same words with and without accent marks within the same search result, the option  "Create Optional Accent Sensitive Index" must be selected within the Indexing Options when creating the Index.

For Example:

Searching the French term: “jamais accidentée" would search for the term with and without the accent mark and combine them into one result. See the screenshot below in how these results will be displayed within FTK.

If the option to create the accent sensitive index is not selected “jamais accidentée" and “jamais accidentee" would return different results.

Note: Adding this option after an Index has already been created will require the current Index be removed and rebuilt with the added option.
